Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, last year's highest paid actor according to Forbes

Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson is the highest paid actor of last year, according to the latest Forbes annual ranking.

It climbed its second place last year, while its profit of 89.4 million US dollars was lower than that of 119 million US dollars it had won in 2018.

The number one actor of last year, George Clooney, has left the top 10.

The list of the best paid actresses will be published by Forbes tomorrow.

Lists include global celebrity revenues, including brand marks, and do not include only payments for equities.

Over the last year, Johnson has starred in the film Derived from Fast & Furious, Hobbs & Shaw, Skyscraper, and has produced films like Fighting with My Family and Shazam!

Later this year, he will play in Jumanji: The Next Level alongside Kevin Hart and Jack Black.

Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, and Jackie Chan are in the top five.

1. Dwayne Johnson – $ 89.4 million (£ 73.6 million)

2. Chris Hemsworth – $ 76.4 million (£ 62.9 million)

3. Robert Downey Jr – $ 66 million (£ 54.4 million)

4. Akshay Kumar – $ 65 million (£ 53.5 million)

5. Jackie Chan – $ 58 M (£ 47.8 M)

6. Bradley Cooper – $ 57 M (£ 46.9 M)

7. Adam Sandler – $ 57 M (£ 46.9 M)

8. Chris Evans – $ 43 million (£ 35.4 million)

9. Paul Rudd – $ 41 million (£ 33.8 million)

10. Will Smith – $ 35 million (£ 28.8 million)
