By 2021, CSDD plans to create a fast charging network of electric vehicles with 150 stations

Implementation of the project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the Directorate of Road Safety (CSDD) set up the first series of charging stations at the national level, which will launch 70 charging stations in July this year. From here until 2021, it is planned to install up to 150 fast charging stations in general, according to information from the CSDD.

The network of fast charging stations for electric vehicles, set up by the CSDD, began work to ensure the availability of free mobility of electric vehicles practically throughout Latvia. The fast charging stations for electric vehicles are located on the main roads of the country and in the most populated areas. A total of 70 charging stations will be launched in July.

There will be several ways to pay for billing, one of which will be the usual type of e-mobi authorization card for electric car users. In order for owners of electric vehicles to continue using existing e-mobi authorization cards, a post-paid contract for the use of the paid service, already known to existing card owners, must be concluded. New customers can sign up for an e-mobi authorization via the portal.

In the future, it will be possible to pay using the mobile application, downloadable for free from the App Store or Google Play, as well as via SMS, mobile phone bill.
