The State Revenue Service (SRS) tested 821 outlets in June of this year, detecting violations in 94% of cases. Preventive checks in different outlets in Latvia are carried out in order to identify the real situation and advise traders, informs the State Tax Service.
At the point of service, only a small portion of the places used used cash registers and cash registers that met the technical requirements. In most cases, in 754 cases, the equipment did not comply with the new regulations
In 44 cases, SRS employees noted that the trader had not registered any purchases. In about the same number of cases, it was found that the money in the cash register does not coincide with that shown on the check printout.
There were several other violations, including nine cases where the seller did not have a contract of employment. "We volunteered to eliminate mistakes without imposing penalties," says Sandra Kārkliņa-Ādmina, director of the SRS Tax Audit Branch,
who points out that information obtained during inspections will be used for future inspections.
