Latvian Fire Ritual – A Song of the Meeting "3×3" in Kraslava

With sighs warm, thank you lyrics and good luck, as well as the song "Daugava" on both sides, the first 3 × 3 meeting of the year in Latvia has been completed this year.

It was held in Krāslava and brought together 452 participants from Latvia and many other countries of the world. In addition come Australia and New Zealand.

The main task of the meeting is to cultivate Latvian. Participants in this event, for example, learned how to weave old belts, sew linen shirts, prepare archaeological ornaments and learn Latvian traditions of honor, singing and dancing, and participating in the Latvian fire ritual

The leaders of Saieta were for the first time Ilze and Lauris Cekuli. They participated in the "3 × 3" movement a few years ago and became active participants. In the organization of the Saieta, they were the great badistants of the two children. The Krāslava District Municipality also provided support, which the organizers and participants are very grateful for.

Saiets takes place every year in another city or region of Latvia, which allows to know the diversity of Latvia. This time the program included a lot of lessons and events, in which it was possible to learn about the Latgale traditions and also the current problems. Principal Investigator Ilzha Šuplinska of the Rezekne Technology Academy headed the Latgale Cultural Environment Concepts, while Dainis Rakstiņš taught Latvian domestic beer: about 100 liters scraped, which participants could enjoy at the end of the meeting. On the other hand, participants in cultural events have learned both latgalian humor and music. The concert of the Latvian folklore group "Rikši" was a favorite among the participants.

The participants of Saieta also made excursions around Krāslava, enjoying the sincerity and the latgalian hospitality. Since modern Latvians, while retaining valuable traditions, had to travel with time, it was also possible to acquire modern skills – robotic or wavering in the meeting

However, one of the aspects the most important of the meeting is the unity and the feeling of family in such a crowd. "Thank you for your family feeling here, we felt at home here!" Said Edgar Greste of Australia at the end of the meeting.

The second Latvian summit will be held this year in Zalenieki from 22 to 29 July. Always ahead in the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as Germany, which will be the first 3 × 3 meeting in this country.
