The Jānis Baltvilks awards are divided into five categories: Latvian writer's work, Latvian artist's work, Latvian writer's work from the Baltic Sea Region and his translator, AS Latvian State Forests Jaunaudze
This year, the jury reviewed 58 books published between May 2017 and May 2018. The Jānis Baltvilks International Prize will be awarded this year to an Estonian writer Tiia Selli about his book Mia is Happy (Janis Roze Publishing House) and Translator Maima Grinberga
