Here you can discover the life course of the butterfly, which can sometimes be as hot as its wings. It is also possible to watch turtles, fish and colorful and delightful voices of birds chirping.

Currently, the butterfly house is home to a large number of butterflies representing the genus' Caligo & # 39; "Caligo" means darkness – the periods of activity of these butterflies have a twilight. Every day, they only carry a small flight, flying only a few meters. For this reason, they are easy victims of various opponents. Butterflies are known for their particular crowns that look like the eyes of the owl, while the closed wing can look like the snake's head. Is not it the perfect solution for falling into the enemy? Butterflies are found mainly in tropical forests in Central and South America. Their size is relatively impressive – from 6 to 20 centimeters in the opening of the wing. Sigulda's tropical butterfly house houses two types of tow dolls with different shades of wings.

The favorite of visitors is Blue Morphide, who retired from far-off Costa Rica. It is one of the most colorful butterflies of the Sigulda Tropical Butterfly House. The giant butterfly selection has a wingspan of 16 to 32 centimeters! It lasts only 10 days because the butterfly does not consume fresh energy – it has no mouth.
