Dramatic clowns, clowning and irony – these are the creations of The Tiger Lillies. The group started their career in Prague in the 1990s by talking to prostitutes. It is in Prague that the new album "The Tiger Lillies", which should be played at the group concert in Riga on January 23, informed the organizers of the concert.
The Tiger Lillies combines seemingly incompatible things in his work – irony, cabaret, extraordinary musicality, dark sadness, but sometimes – refinement and pure beauty. These qualities make the performance of the group different, it does not leave a lot of polytheism and indifference. The group will perform for the fourth time in Latvia, continuing to capture the hearts of new audiences.
The group's so-called "stage anarchists" have already released more than 40 albums, and their latest performance, The Devil's Fairground, was recorded on October 26 and 27, during live concerts in the Czech capital, in Prague, with the contemporary Berga orchestra.
"The Tiger Lillies" toured the world on concert tours and will celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of its existence next year. The origins of the group were quite different: the first foreign concert took place in Prague, where the band played very simply to the public or prostitutes to the public or the bar, sometimes even in the street.
During his travels in the Czech Republic, the band turned their nights on the floor while creating music that made them famous. Meanwhile, the footprints they hear are heard in the music of The Tiger Lillies, even today.
"Nostalgia, irony, stern humor and endless beauty," say the creators of the new album The Devil & # 39; s Fairground.
The group's conductor and songwriter, Martino Jacques, worked with Michal Nejtek, a producer of new material, to produce symphony arenas. The unique work of his first performance was at the Archaean Theater in Prague.
In Latvia, the new album will be played in early 2019 – the evening of January 23rd at the VEF Culture Palace. Before that, the group will perform in Romania, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, Lithuania and the United States – New York.
Tickets are available at "Biešu Serviss" counters throughout Latvia and on the Internet.
