The law should stipulate that the control of the admission of state secrets should be carried out within three weeks, estimates the candidate of Prime Minister Aldis Gobzems of KPV LV.

At present, the law provides that the probationary period of a person is three months and that for objective reasons, it can be extended by three months.

Gobzem stressed that the party represented by the politician, KPV LV, could encourage the implementation of the relevant amendments in the law. The political force has yet to take a formal decision on this issue, he added.

If such a reduction in the time limit for all individuals would have a negative impact on national security, for example by allowing access to state secrets to people who are not challenged adequately, Gobzem responded negatively. The politician pointed out that the effect would be exactly the opposite and would guarantee national security, because "the special service must be able to react quickly".

In the opinion of the politician, his proposal to reduce the time allocated to the badessment of the granting of a tolerance without requiring additional funds for the activities of the Office of Constitutional Protection (SAB ).

Demanding a largely disdainful stance on government partners in reforming the system of secrecy, the prime minister said that it was not a reform, but from a move towards a responsible institution running faster.

He also pointed out that, in connection with the inspection of the granting of a secret state to a politician, he has not yet been invited to communicate any information to SAB, although he is ready to answer questions.
