During the military training "Orkan", which will take place in Sindi, from November 30 to December 2, 180 guards and soldiers of the 27th Infantry Regiment and the 22 National Guard Infantry Battalions will participate in the battle to be waged by the 27th National Guard Infantry. The representatives of Latvia as well as the unit of the Estonian regular forces participating in these exercises will become "Kaitseliit" as opponents of attack operations and support of populated areas. In addition, this time, the capabilities of cooperation and integration of units of the National Guard and the Estonian regular forces will be formed. "Orkan" is one of the largest military exercises organized by the Estonian National Guard or "Kaitseliit" and aims to improve the ability of "Kaitseliit" units to carry out delays and protection operations.

The National Guard has traditionally participated in these exercises since 2009. The National Guard has been cooperating with Kaitseliit for 27 years and has jointly organized military training for soldiers and guards.

In the area of ​​responsibility of the 27th Infantry Battalion of the National Guard, we find Amatas, Césis, Jaunpiebalga, Vecpiebalga Ligatne, Pargaujas, Priekuli, Rauna, Vecpiebalga, Limbazi, Krimulda, Sigulda, Süjas, Injukalns and other Burtnieki, Mazsalacas, Rujiena, Naukšni, Valka, Smiltene, Strenču, Beverina, Alojas and the town of Valmiera are among the areas of responsibility of the 22nd Infantry Battalion of the National Guard. The two battalions are part of the 2nd National Guard of the National Guard.
