Andrey Vatutin, president of CSKA basketball club in Moscow, has discovered the average budget of clubs in the Euroleague ULEB zone this season.
At a meeting of shareholders of the Euroleague in Milan this week, Vatutins has discovered that the average budget of the Euroleague clubs this season is 25.8 million euros.
"We talked about factors of financial instability between teams and nine countries with very different financial realities. We continue to seek a transparent financial model, adapted to each club. This season, the average budget of a club is 25.8 million euros, said Vatutins.
This season, 16 teams from nine countries play in Euroleague. The six units are also represented by Latvian basketball players – Rolands Schmidt ("Barcelona"), Arturs Kurucs ("Baskonia" of Vitoria), Jānis Strēlnieks ("Olympiacos" of Piraeus), Jānis Timma ("Khimki" in the Moscow District ), Angers Paseč) and Jean-Pierre Peiner (Darussafaka, Istanbul).
During the season, Dairis Bertans represented the Italian team Milan Olimpia, but has now joined the NBA (National Basketball Association) New Orleans Pelicans.
