A firefighter, Saldus, tried to rescue his wounded and lying sea eagle. The death of wild animals often suffers very serious injuries. Saved – Protected in Latvia – The bird was entrusted to the doctors of the Riga Zoo.

Viktors Palijs, an employee of the Saldus Fire and Rescue Branch in Saldus, went on a hobby trip until he saw a very uncomfortable view of the highway. The wounded sea eagle was also lying on the ground next to the fox of the car.

Victor captured the bird and went home. For its part, the eagle was presented the next day under the auspices of the Riga Zoological Garden.

The firefighter's rescuer initially noticed that the eagle had a fractured tibia, but when the vets conducted a larger animal study, it turned out to be the slightest injury.

It is very difficult to treat wild species because being in captivity and the close presence of humans can affect the welfare and health of unleavened animals.

Animals on the roads of Latvia are not rare to be slaughtered, but the following regularity must also be taken into account: animals fallen into the hands of predators and other animals serve as a source of nutrition.

The animals, motivated by a person who approaches or listens to the sounds of the car, will not run away at the very last moment when it will be too late.

The sea eagle is the Polish national bird and the biggest breeding bird in Latvia. In recent years, their numbers in our country has increased because of the protective measures taken, but the white-tailed bird is still considered protected. Despite the name obtained, bird habits have little relation to the sea.

The rescue of the sea eagle by Victor Palis is currently in the quarantine zone. It is too early to judge the future of the bird.
