On Friday, from 21:24, a full moon eclipse will be observed in Latvia, informed by the chairman of the board of directors of the Latvian Astronomical Society Maris Krastiņš.

The surroundings will be visible in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Indian Ocean. This eclipse will be observed in Latvia almost from the beginning, since its partial phase will start at 21.24, the complete phase will be at 22.30 and the maximum phase of the eclipse will be 23.22

Krastiņš points out that At the beginning of the partial phase of the eclipse, the moon will be on the horizon. the sky will be light, because, for example, in Riga, the moon is flying at 21.36 and the sun will be at 21.46. On the contrary, at the time of the maximum phase of the eclipse, the sky will be sufficiently cloudy and the moon will be high enough to be visible.

As reported, a partial solar eclipse will be visible in northern Latvia on August 11th. Although this solar eclipse is not visible in Riga, it will be possible to observe it in a very small phase north of Kurzeme and Vidzeme.
