"Many composers create their own works inspired by nature and people, listening to the sounds of the city, transforming the sounds, colors and movements of the world into music." The composer transforms his feelings and observations into notes. We wanted to give Latvia a unique and special character, not a person, but the whole airport, bringing together both human creativity and the opportunities offered by new technologies: it was the idea of the first symphony in the world, who would be the author of the airport. Riga, "says the airports Riga Chairman of the Board, Ilona Líce.

"The starting point of the Symphony is based on the sounds we hear most often at the airport. These are coach wheels and all the other notes are simplified from the objects and movements of the coach. Thanks to the new technologies, a specific sound has been attributed – a special computer program of motion recognition has distinguished I will only connect as a musician-arranger, I have selected and compiled the material of music in a single composition so that the symphony is logical, attentive and pleasant ", explains the musician and symphonic musician, arranger Artūrs Liepiņš.

Airport Riga The creation of the symphony took place in three stages. In the first place – at the time of motion fixation, filming was made at various airports with a variety of movements. Given the size, shape and character of each feature, a rhythm, sound, tempo or tone has been badigned to it.

In order to turn the rich visual material into sequential musical phrases, new technologies were used in the second phase of the symphony's creation. First of all, the computer program of the artificial intelligence machine would solve if a person, a bus, an airplane or another object moved in front of the camera and consequently converted the movements into the corresponding sounds. Subsequently, the film was completed with digital music lines and the objects visible through them were read as notes.

The third and final stage of the airport movement was played in an audio studio with pianos, sit-ins and string instruments, but at the end of the new composition, the composer received a musical arranger for the symphony . The new piece is perfectly suited to the venue, at the time and relies on the principle of randomness, namely that if the three stages of musical creation were reinterpreted, the result would be a completely different piece.

From November 28 to December 12, each pbadenger or airport Riga A guest on a special stand installed in the public part of the departure terminal can become familiar with the technology of creating the symphony and test the process of its operation on the spot.

According to the Council of International Airports (Council of International Airport, ACI) on airport performance in Europe in the second quarter of 2018 by international airport Riga was the second fastest growing airport in Europe. From the airport "Rīga" you can reach 80 people in winter and 100 destinations in summer provided by 20 airlines.
