Traffic growth in six months is observed in all transport groups – domestic, export, import and transit. An increase of 35.7% in minerals, 42.6% in wood and 28.4% in chemical transport. In the last month, compared with June of the previous year, the volume of coal transport (+ 49.5%), transportation of petroleum products and transport of ores, wood and ore has increased 7.2%

. The share of Belarussian cargo in the total volume of imported goods and transit transit – from 15.7% last year to 25.5% this year. The total volume of goods traffic in the railways between Belarus and Latvia amounted to 14.7 million. tonnes, of which 5.75 mln.

In the first half of 2018 there was an increase – 82.2 thsd.tonnes or 19.1% more compared to the badogue period of 2017. Freight structure to the export consists mainly of food products, metals and ferroalloys, as well as other goods. In turn, the transit of land freight between the two countries amounted to 1.38 mln. tonnes, 2.1 times more than in 2017.

Container shipments during the first half carried 2,842 TEUs, or 13% more than last year in the same period.

Since October 2017, in bilateral traffic between Latvia and Belarus the use of the electronic consignment note has started in the treatment of private wagons, which greatly accelerates and facilitates the movement of wagons between the two countries thus enabling customers to recover their rolling stock more quickly.
