The photo, recently published on the NASA website as a photo of the day, is actually a compilation of several solar companies compiled together using computer programs.

Using transit-finder.com, Kolakurco calculated exactly where and when the SKS would be in front of the Sun, but then tried to focus its telescope on the Sun. The camera attached to the telescope then took several photos, which were then glued together to form a complete picture of the Sun.

SKS on the Sun is well visible in the left corner of the picture, but something is missing in this picture. There are no sunspots on the surface of the sun (dark areas with strong magnetic activity). The lack of spots, as explained by NASA, is due to the occurrence of the so-called solar minimum. It is a period of low solar activity and occurs every 11 years.
