From 17 July to 20 July, the first Baltic Summer School for the Digital Humanities will take place at the National Library of Latvia. It is organized by the National Library of Latvia with the Institute of Literature, Folklore and Arts of the University of Latvia and the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Latvia. The summer school is one of the results of the interinstitutional initiative digitalhumanities.lv launched end of 2017. The summer school will bring together about 40 students in science of the culture, researchers, archives, librarians and museum specialists from different countries. For four days, participants will have an international team of researchers that will explore the basic methods, resources and tools needed for research in the humanities and digital social sciences. In addition to the training program, the Baltic Summer School of Digital Humanities offers five public lectures where guest speakers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Sweden will share their research and experiences.
