A warning was reported Wednesday about the children's hospital. Two babies who had not received the necessary doses of vitamins and mates had died during the month. One of the deceased children said on Latvian television that at the time of the birth of the child or during the first month, doctors did not consider it necessary to give a baby to Vitamin K.

The father of the child of the deceased emphasizes that the lack of vitamin K can be the cause of bruising – he learned that the resuscitation of children's hospital. When the baby was born, vitamin K did not receive a pot or droplet.

"We did not talk about vitamin K," said a rheumatologist in a children's hospital, saying his pot was saved. "It's not necessary to focus on what was not given right away, after childbirth and later, I want to emphasize," says the father of the deceased.

The baby is born in the creature "Harmony". It is equipped exactly like any maternity ward and the only thing that does not happen is a potion against TB. All other children receive. Whether the baby's parents explain the importance of vitamin K or not, adoptive maternity midwife Aija Mikova refuses to comment. As long as the health inspection has not started, she will not say anything. However, mandatory vitamin K is given only to children born seriously.

"If a baby is born prematurely, if there is green fruit, if the umbilical cord is awake, in these cases, vitamin K is mandatory. In other cases, talk with parents. parents refuse, with power, vitamin K is not given! "says Mikova.

In turn, the baby's family doctor sent a recommendation for a TB potion, as vitamin K was not added.

"We knew that they were giving birth to maternity. We did not know their meaning. That's why we asked the child's family doctor. It replied: if it is not administered after childbirth, it is not necessary! " explains the father of the deceased child.

The family doctor Zanda Oliņa-Putene does not call in practice, is in the courts. But they do not answer phone calls.

The father of the child thinks that vitamin K should already be clarified in badfeeding clbades. The family visited them.

"People lack information about its importance. It is the medical and medical system.Inform!" stresses the man.

On Wednesdays, on the Internet, at home, on a website where there were signs of a harmonious birth, a call was made to avoid receiving vitamin K. Thursday, this information has disappeared. That's why the children's hospital doctors turned to their colleagues in an open letter.

"If we are talking about vitamin K, it has been proven for several decades that tens of thousands of people have said that prevention will reduce newborn mortality, so we do not have the right to make individual decisions. and endangering our health and our lives, and we are responsible for everything.Parents have the right to trust us and rely on us.That is why we call all my colleagues to respect all the directives and not to risk the price of a child's life, "says Renate Snipe, the head coach of the hospital.

The Riga maternity clinic, where most Latvian babies are born, points out that vitamin K gets drops on their first visit. The death of a baby eight years ago made mandatory the administration of vitamins throughout the country.

"The previous case of this kind dates back to 2010. From that moment, we have developed the guidelines of the Association of Neonatologists of Latvia and, in the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers, it is integrated. only are important. [dodam] one at a time, a week and a month, "said Inese Bodniece, neonatologist chief at Riga Maternity Hospital.

The next two doses of the baby should be administered weekly and monthly. The drops are bought in a pharmacy with a prescription from the family doctor. The price of one dollar is 48 cents.

It is also important to explain that, when he is badfeeding, he does not get vitamin K from his mother's milk. It is added to milk powder blends. Of course, this does not mean that badfeeding should be discontinued, just give vitamin K as directed – a week and a month after childbirth.
