A unique project in the life of the artist is the brand of clothes" Kalitan. "A bit of a mystery is the story of how that name came in. The Edite girl, at the age of eight, made a stringed instrument from the shoebox and wrote on the sides: Kalitans .Nobody knew to d & # 39; Where did this curious name come from? Edith and her husband discovered that Kalitan was a remarkable Thrash racehorse in North America, where he had enjoyed great success a hundred years ago.Son scored the horse that became the form figurative of the mark.

An important part of Edith's work is at the Free Waldorf School of Adazi. She perceives this mission – to release creative energy in children and young people, giving the consciousness of the mantle and the desire to work. For the fourth year with colleagues, Art Days are organized by the school, and one of their sections is sartorial performance on a specific subject. This year, the artist felt that she should talk about peace in herself and in the world – "Peace in her pocket". This is the current concern for all, and the younger generation feels the perception of these things. Costumes created by young artists from household and household waste – illiquid paper, plastics and similar materials. And the creative spirit made possible the transformation of insignificant material into art.

Edita is very busy, as she creates stage costumes for choirs. The vision of the costume must be based on the story because the artist creates the image of the scene inspired by the musical performance of the group of artists. It is quite difficult to create a costume in which the stage performer feels like a second skin, and in a perfect version, a good stage performance creates a creative uprising and allows the singer to sing even better. A very interesting experience for the artist was the creation of vocal group "Latvian Voices" stage costumes for the concert program "Rūtoj", which was held in cooperation with "Riga 2014". Generally, the creative thoughts of the artist are limited by the budget. This was the rare case where Edith could implement her 90% plan. Transformable costumes have been added with titanium rattan.

Every creative artist offers something new and new, and he often faces a variety of challenges. This time technology allows you to demolish the distance barrier and create individual costumes for humans in any country of the world. For example, they became the costumes of the Latvian Luxembourg choir "Meluzin", which the artist commissioned from afar. To be able to sew a costume, each girl had to remove 23 measure, which created an image of the peculiarities of the body. And the idea has become reality!
Sometimes the designer costumes are entirely made from A to Z. However, there are often very large works like costumes for choirs. To do this, Edite is a carefully selected team with whom he has worked for years. In addition, the artist chooses harmonious people whose positive personality brings their share of clothing.
"Every artist has a writing while he is alive, my writing consists of the desire to work with natural materials, to give a texture and a unique color to the smooth fabric, and to like asymmetry, which is a living thing. I like things where I can wait for the joy of discovery, things that will surprise me. Speaking of the future, there are many ideas, some have so conquered places in the consciousness that they seem to be real events.Now, just keep trying to fill it in.
