Riga, November 28, LETA. The Latvian Council of Sworn Advocates (LZAP) pleaded for the exclusion of the candidate named Alda Gobzma (KPV LV) of the Bar. The Latvian LAPR has been approved by Janis Rozenbergs, the LETA agency.
He confirmed that the exclusion of Gobzeme was related to the decision of the Disciplinary Committee of LZAP.
The unofficial information available to the LETA agency suggests that such a decision was made in connection with Gobzma's statements to the murdered murder administrator, Martins Bunk, and that this decision was adopted in the absence of Gobzma himself.
The Law on the Bar provides that after the disciplinary procedure, the Disciplinary Commission decides to impose a disciplinary sanction on a lawyer or to terminate a disciplinary procedure.
The Disciplinary Committee has the right to impose various sanctions – to make a note, a reprimand, to establish another place of practice or to prohibit practice in a fixed place for a maximum of three years, to prohibit the exercise Legal duties for a period not exceeding one year.
The most severe penalty is the exclusion of the number of sworn lawyers, but excludes LZAP from the number of attorneys. Similarly, LZAP may decide to suspend or withdraw from the number of sworn attorneys, as well as to suspend individual attorneys.
LZAP decisions may be appealed in accordance with the procedures specified in the Administrative Procedure Law. An appeal against a decision of the Council to expel, suspend, expel or expel a lawyer does not suspend the application of this decision before the date on which the final decision of the case enters into force .
LZAP initiated two disciplinary actions against Gobzem. He asked LZAP at the beginning of November to delete them because, in his opinion, they were not justified. Gobzem also expressed the opinion that, in the context of the suspension of his lawyer, because of his election to the Saeima, these disciplinary matters are no longer relevant.
The first disciplinary case against Gobzem was opened at the end of August. This disciplinary case was opened following the murder of the family of Martins Bunkus, insolvency lawyer and administrator, as well as the lawyer Romualdas Vonsovics and other people.
The second disciplinary case against Gobzem was opened following the request of the doctor, Indra Štlmeņa.
During his career, Gobzem headed the Insolvency Administration (now the Insolvency Control Department) and defended the interests of several victims of the tragedy of Maxima. in several civil cases, according to information available in the LETA archives.
