More than 250 runners were seduced by a marathon in the Chinese city of Shenyang, which deliberately shortened the distance or behaved differently.

The marathon took place last weekend, but the fraud took place during the half marathon, with a total of 258 people seized. More than a dozen runners were ghostly numbers, but three people ran away, while most cheated, shortening the distance.

Shenzhen city cameras showed that runners were shortening the distance traveled in parks and shrubs, and many turned around at least a kilometer faster than in the opposite direction. As a result, this half marathon has a potentially short jog distance of two to three kilometers.

The most saddened riders may even be sentenced to a lifetime disqualification from the Shenyang Marathon.

Running among the Chinese population has become increasingly popular in recent years – even despite the fact that air pollution is occurring in large cities. In 2011, there were 22 races going on in China, while there are already 1,100.

The Shenyang Marathon usually brings together about 16,000 participants.
