The deputies of the municipal council of Ventspils decided to suspend the operation of the children's garden "Stikli" on December 28th. This year, the number of students in the institution has decreased. There are currently 21 students, including 16 from Riga.

On October 26, the municipality of Ventspils received a statement from the Department of Social Welfare of the Riga City Council that on 31 December, at the end of the previous agreement on the provision of long-term social social rehabilitation to the children of the Riga Municipality, the department does not plan to continue its cooperation with the "Stikli" orphanage. In December of this year, it is planned to stop providing services to a student from the municipality of Ventspils. As a result, only four students will remain in the school at the end of December. Therefore, the granting of funds for future activities of childhood would be neither targeted nor economically justified.

These considerations were decisive for members of the Ventspils County Council to hold an extraordinary meeting on 28 November to close the Stikli Children's Hall on 28 December, informing the 20 employees of the institution in due time, including 16 are currently working at the Stiklu crèche.

The building where the children's house is located belongs to the municipality, so she is interested in the activity. According to Aivars Mucenieks, chairman of Ventspils County Council, the interest in providing social welfare services in these premises has already been shown.
