The head coach of the Latvian U-20 team, Kārlis Zirnis, has announced the composition of the 32-member group for the First Division Group A World Championship, to be held in Fisen , in Germany, from 9 to 15 December.
Latvian coaches under 20 included three goalkeepers, ten defenders and nineteen forwards on the roster. The largest representation in the ranks of the candidates comes from the Russian Junior Hockey League (MHL), represented by 14 players from HK Riga. Peak also attracted seven North American ice hockey players, including three Swiss and one German and Swedish.
The Latvian under-20 team will start its training camp ahead of the World Championships on Friday 30 November and will not be full-time in its first lesson. On Wednesday, December 5 afternoon, the team will leave for the world championship.
Before the December 6 World Championship, the team has to test the match with Austrian peers. This match will take place in the Austrian city of Telfs. After this fight, Karl Zirn will announce the final selection of players for the world championship.
Carlisle Zirnim will also be badisted by American specialist Frensis Anzalone this season. Raimonds Vilkoits, who works daily in the MHL HK "Rīga" unit, will also be in charge of the badistant duties. Meanwhile, Eric Visocki will be responsible for the fitness of U20, as usual.
