The Ministry of Transport, led by Linkaita (SM), proposes to apply a new, rather complicated formula for determining the amount of the basic monthly salary, which would take into account the increase in the average monthly salary of employees in the country year previous year, the percentage of inflation of the previous year compared to that of the previous year; average monthly salary for the past year, etc. indicators.

The amendments provide that once a year after the approval of the annual report of the port, taking into account the amount of the basic monthly salary of the ports, the monthly salary of the president of the harbor council will be recalculated by multiplying the respective port coefficient.

With the help of this particular formula, in 2019, the monthly salary of the president of the large port council was reduced to 2 917 euros, so that the salary in 2019 would be reduced by 1067 euros.

The calculation of the monthly salaries of the board members of large, medium and small ports would not be changed and would still be set at 95% of the salary of the port's board chairpersons, but they would also receive much less.

The memorandum of understanding states that at the time the port cargo business figure exceeds the previous year, the chairman of the port's board of directors and board member receives a monthly special allowance to the monthly salary, as well as the chair of the harbor council and the board member the previous year. for at least six months, has been chairman and member of the board, respectively.

The special bonus calculated for the Harbor Council Chairman and its members is paid monthly as of April 1st of the year in question.
