Millions of years ago, the moon was inhabited – Space – Science

In a study published in the scientific journal Astrobiology, scientists write that the moon, 4 billion years ago, was a condition in which simple life forms could develop. It's about the same time that life came to Earth.

At that time, large quantities of hot gases, including water, were released from the interior of the moon. As a result, not only did the atmosphere appear, but the vapor condensed and pools of water formed on the moon.

"It looks like the moon was uninhabitable at that time, and the microbes could certainly grow on its surface in the water basins, if these conditions were long enough for the moon, the surface of the moon was definitely a densely populated area, "says astrobiologist Dirk Schulze-Makuch.

The study is based on information collected during recent space missions and after the moon.

"I am convinced that there is currently no life on the moon, but once it was a very active companion," added Schulz-Makus
