Representatives of so-called right-wing central parties, called for talks on the edification of the government, have only discussed organizational issues today, but political forces are ready to take part in future discussions on the formation of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The new Conservative Party (JKP) is currently participating in the discussions, but the future situation will depend on the consultation process and the JKP will decide on its participation in the next stages of the negotiations.
Maria Golubeva, a Party of Development (AP) politician, explained that Aldis Gobzem, appointed as prime minister, said he hoped the talks would take place between colleagues, which would imply a kind of confidentiality. At the same time, we must maintain a balance with the public interest by knowing the content proposal that will be discussed in the negotiations.
The AP is particularly interested in the content offer and the possibility of agreeing on the necessary reforms and the objectives of the government, said the politician. The priorities of the party are the socially liberal agendas, the European orientation and the reforms. Golubeva admitted that the interview schedule is relatively dense.
"I think that, like all the other partners, we will participate in these discussions and then see how we can do it," said a politician, asking how the political power would decide to participate or not in this government.
Gaidis Berzins, vice president of the National Alliance "For all Latvia!" – for "Homeland and Freedom" / LNNK (VL-TB / LNNK), said that this time, the six political forces were sitting at the table and that the VL-TB / LNNK had already joined a wider coalition. It's already a progress, says a politician. He added, however, that discussions on many key issues were still awaiting the parties.
Armands Krauze (ZZS), chairman of the ZZS board of directors, said that today a well-discussed work schedule had been agreed by all parties. Political forces will now have to continue to gather for talks and work to build the government, said the political leader. As a result, the conversation was deemed good and sensitive issues were not addressed, said ZZS chairman of the board.
Krauze baderted that there was no ZZS "red line" against the New Conservative Party (JKP). Today, during the talks, relations between the JKP and ZZS have not been discussed, the politician added.
Ainars Latkovskis, leader of the new Saeima faction of Unity (JV), told LETA that today, the parties have agreed on the schedule of upcoming negotiations. However, future negotiations will have to deal with very important issues, such as the declaration of the future government. JV plans to submit his suggestions on the priority work of the government, added Latkovskis.
As stated, President Raimonds Vējonis has decided to entrust the Georgian government with the politician "KPV LV", Gobzem.
In an interview with the newspaper, the independent director of the SAB, Maizītis, said that the study of Gobzeme aimed at obtaining admission of state secrets could take up to six months.
KPV LV won the second place with 14.25% of the support of the voters and 16 seats in the 13th Saeima in the legislative elections.
In general, there are seven factions in parliament. The largest group – 23 members – is "Harmony", the JKP and the "KPV LV" represent 16 members, the AP and the national unions VL-TB / LNNK – 13, ZZS – 11 and JV – eight .
