The Museum of History and Art of Cēsis received a unique gift – photographs showing the historic interior of the new palace, as well as unpublished photographs of the south facade of the new palace and the palace. medieval castle in the 90s of the 19th century, Kristīne Skrīvere, head of the museum.
Up to now, the researchers have not had photos available with the interiors of the new castle of Cēsis and a view of the south facade dating from the 90s of the 19th century. During the reconstruction of the new castle of Cēsis from 2007 to 2012, missing historical information was sought. in the corresponding castles and mansions, in order to best represent the possible interior and facade of the new castle of Cēsis according to its form in the 19th century. The photos of the present reveal an unpublished history of history and finally give an idea of how the castle looked at Count Zivers during the 1990s and the beginning of the 20th century
