This year's reconstruction will be completed on the 11.5 km-long Kraslava-Preiļi-Madona (P62) regional section of Stekas to Atašienė, which until now had been covered with gravel, but under 39; asphalt. With the completion of these works, the entire 148.3 km long road will be paved, Delfi informed the national roads of Latvia.

Last year, building the steak building at Atashien was complicated by the weather. Due to the rainbows, the Neretiņa River was overflowed, so it was not possible to perform a low basement replacement, and the reduction works were done during the months of winter – during the technological break. About 45,000 cubic meters of peat in winter, about a third was exported. This year, the work continued.

In this section of the road, a race track was followed in several places, a layer of salt water was built, a pebble base was built. Currently, asphalt is already laid on six kilometers and since July 16, asphalt is planned for the rest of the stage. There is already a new construction pbad, but there is still some finishing work to be done. The works are carried out by SIA Binders, the investment is 9.5 million euros (including VAT), the construction works are co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Construction work continues on the same road from Preili to Bashki. Last year, the replacement of the low load bearing capacity has already been carried out – a total of 86 thousand m³ of peat has been exported. This year the rest has been exported – 31 thousand. m³. Milling operations were carried out, a layer of melting salt and a clay base were built, the first asphalt works are expected in July. The two existing bridges at this stage – on Preliupi and Jasz – are being restored. The work is done by SIA "Lemminkainen Latvija". The costs of the project amount to 17.5 million euros, the works are co-financed by the ERDF.
