Lizuma's longtime director, Aldim Strad, 60, will pay the monthly minimum wage of 860 euros before taxes to the municipality of Gulbene from 3 July, according to the Dzirkstele newspaper.

The chairman of the council of Normunds Audzys (ZZS) Strad requested the granting of the benefit on the basis of the law on the status of the municipal council and the district council. This provision stipulates that a person is entitled to a monthly allowance of two months if, after May 4, 1990, she holds the same position of President of the local government for two consecutive terms.

A benefit may be paid to a former employee of a municipality before the retirement age. Five years before reaching retirement age if the person is not considered a worker or a self-employed person. The National Social Insurance Agency has confirmed that Strad meets the criteria.

Strads worked for the Lizums Parish Council Chairperson from January 31, 1990 to June 30, 2009.
