The report is designed to inform the government and its conceptual support on the need to further increase the remuneration of medical staff and medical staff for the next three years.
As stated in the report, by increasing the average salary of these people by 20% in 2019, 2020 and 2021, a total of 641.6 million EUR is needed. This amount will require a surplus of 103.6 million euros next year. State-funded health care providers need 70.7 million euros and 2.2 million euros for residents.
At the same time, the expected increase in wages for extended normal working hours or for double overtime will require 19.3 million euros next year, with no expected increase in compensation of the employees. doctors – 16.1 million euros.
The ministry emphasizes that the increase in the remuneration of doctors is necessary given the great shortage of human resources in the health care sector in Latvia. The report states that this year, in general, the load deficit, or the difference between the actual and the required load, corresponds to the 1984 expense, which is forecast to increase by 9.7% or to 2019.
As stated, Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis and Finance Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola have repeatedly stated that the current government does not have a mandate to increase the remuneration of doctors next year.
