The idea of placing the piano outdoors for it to be accessible to all who are interested in it, was born in the UK more than ten years ago, this project is popular in about 60 countries in the world. a few years ago there were also in Latvia – Valmiera and Daugavpils
The project uses pianos that have become superfluous to their owners and have not been played for years. Andris Lanka, who was inspired by the vision of Vancouver, visiting a brother, decided that such a project could be implemented in Latvia
"We are funding the project ourselves, but with the time. There is no need for millions, only a few hundred, "says Lanka.
The tradition of this project is that the piano is painted by local artists, with his daughter Roberts Vaitkus.The first pianos are sung by the musicians Annika Lanka and Anete Kozlovska
The piano will be given regularly, the inhabitants can also be involved in the protection against rain, because there is a film on the piano to cover them.Kuldiga is the first place where this project is implemented this year, Liepaja and Riga will also be present.Enjoy the music in this historic site until the end of August
