The building permit for the construction of a new store in the Stopinu district in Dreilini , Biķeru Street 2 ("Launcher") was issued on March 16, 2017, but the works started in May 2017. The site contractor is Verus Praedium Ltd., the construction work was done by JSC UPB, supervised by SIA ARPLAN, but supervision of construction – SIA Baltic Construction Consu ltancy

It has already been reported that the store will open in the autumn of 2018 300 new jobs, representatives of the company. The total investment in the project will be about 60 million euros.

The land, which will be located on the store, occupies ten hectares. An agreement with SEB banka for a long term loan of 35.4 million euros was concluded for construction.

If necessary, it will be possible to enlarge the store premises of about 6000 square meters. In the future, the company plans will also include the creation of sales outlets in the regions of Latvia, where buyers will be able to bring IKEA products back to their homes.
