The Šķirotava closed prison and the property belonging to it were transferred to the Ministry of Finance under the control of the Ministry of Finance and to the management of the WNIS in November 2016.
The strategy VNIS provides for the preservation of promising properties in the real estate portfolio.
Goods that will no longer be used in the future for state functions and that will not be profitable in the NAV portfolio and that will be invested in their development are marketed.
In total, 17 objects participated in the auction, but there were three nosolotes – Sort opened a prison with his buildings at three addresses – Krustpils street 63, Asotes street 2 and Raiumsila street 1, Riga, as well as two other properties – in the district of Tukums and Saldus
The old buildings of the Skrunda vocational secondary school were also put up for sale.
The VNIS has more than 500 construction properties over an area of 1.8 million square meters and more than 4,100 property properties of more than 10 million square meters.

VNIS employs 580 employees. The total value of badets in 2016 was 357.81 million euros, the turnover in 2016 – 49.98 million euros
