The word "Strawberry Moon" comes from North American Indians because the forest's strawberries ripened during this period. Elsewhere in the world, it is also known as the pink moon and honeymoon. NASA scientists say that the popular word "honeymoon", which refers to the hour just after marriage, is probably derived from the name of the historical moon. In the past, it was customary to get married early in the summer.

As the solstice approaches, the moon jumps and it rains more and more later. Today, June 17, it is 22:22 and 5:26, while in the night of Ligo, it is estimated at 1:33 and midnight.
