US President Donald Tramps has threatened to cut subsidies to US auto giant General Motors (GM), which has announced plans to cut 15% of jobs and close several factories.
It's a new thrust of Tramp's anger against American companies whose plans do not keep the President's promise to protect American jobs.
"The United States has saved General Motors and it's THANKS we receive in return!" Tramps wrote in his tweet account on Tuesday citing the government's help during the financial crisis. "We are currently considering reducing all GM subsidies, including electric cars."
A Tramp record on Twitter followed a day after GM's announcement of the 15% loss of its 180,000 employees and the closure of seven factories around the world through a mbadive restructuring aimed at save $ 6 billion and adapt to changing market conditions.
The layoffs will particularly affect the politically important districts of Ohio and Michigan, whose rebirth was promised by Tramps.
GM responded to Tramp's statements, noting that the company would continue to maintain a strong presence of its production in the United States, as indicated by its investment of more than $ 22 billion in the country since 2009.
In addition, GM says many of the employees affected by the closure of the plant will have the opportunity to change their business within the company.
