Two Estonians explain to police why they wanted to hang at the Freedom Monument – in Riga

On Sunday, July 22, shortly before 5 am, employees of the Riga City Police Department located a bite of a man through the camera. Two of them suddenly hit the Freedom Monument and found themselves there. The information was transferred to municipal police officers in Riga

. The forces of order went to the monument, where it became clear that tourists from Estonia were climbers. Both men were ordered to descend immediately from the monument. The information was pbaded on to the staff of the RPP Tourism Department who arrived at the scene and continued to work with foreigners. The Estonians explained that they wanted to take a picture to inform the local policemen.

A fine of EUR 125 was imposed on one of them, while a second fine of EUR 150.

The authors filed a report of administrative offense for showing a disgrace at the Freedom Monument. When evaluating the actions of the two men, one of them was fined 125 euros, while the other was fined 150 euros.
