The Riga District Court imposed suspended sentences of imprisonment on a member of the alcohol company and butcher for kidnapping and torture of a person, as evidenced by a verdict made public
. The judgment shows that in the case in general, three men were charged with kidnapping, moderate intentional bodily injury and threats of murder. Each accused played a different role in the crime.
Men seized someone who would take revenge for the humiliation of an accused mother-in-law. The victim was threatened to test his body parts in the woods so that no one could find him.
The victim was also taken to the forest, where he was ordered to dig a pit. When digging the pit in the peat bog failed, the man escaped, but reached and received a shot with a spike on his head. The victim was also ordered to go to another place to dig a pit, but that did not succeed
The judgment also indicates that the victim was infiltrated into the boot of the car where one of the accused dragged her with a machete. While he was in a locked bag, he could call the police and tell him what had happened. The most vigorous, he was then released on a forest road before threatening him not to report.
The judgment suggests that one of the accused is father of five children with nine years of education, but has never been punished. The other accused has already been convicted several times by a father of two children from primary school who was working as an badistant in an alcoholic beverage company. The third accused is the father of two children, who has not been sentenced in the past. The man was working in a business for a butcher.
One accused court applied 140 hours of forced labor, the other accused was deprived of liberty for four years. The third defendant was released on parole for two years and four months.
During the course of the investigation, conditional offenders spent several months in detention. The convicts will also have to pay several thousand euros in compensation to the victim.
The accused were found guilty and agreed to pay compensation.
