U-18 Basketball Player Wins Final Winning Match Before EČ – Basketball – Sports

Latvian basketball players won 79:67 (20:11, 17:14, 18:22, 24:20) French colleagues

Artūrs Žagars kicked 23 points in the winners, while Valter Veveris added 16 points. After the first half, the Latvian basketball players were leading with 12 points (37:25), but in the second half of the year, the French improved the game even more, but the victory came back in the end of the match

The Under-18 European Championship will be held at Ventspils from 28 July to 5 August 2008.

The Under-18 European Championship will take place in Ventspils from 28 July to 5 August. , Liepaja and Riga. The Latvian team will start the tournament at Ventspils, in the Subgroup A tournament with teams from Croatia, Greece and Italy. Final Rounds A subgroup will meet four subgroups of subgroup B (Turkey, Russia, France, Germany). The other eight team tournaments and the eight quarter-finals will be held in Liepaja

The winners of the eighth finals will face the 1st, 8th and 5th places of Riga on August 3rd, 4th and 5th and the losers in 9th and 16th places. U18 basketball players began preparing for the tournament on June 18th.
