Sega is looking to take a share of the very popular (Nintendo) and less successful (Sony) market with the launch of the Sega Mega Drive Mini (Sega Genesis Mini in the US), which will be launched worldwide on September 19th.

The little black box will contain 40 classic hits, although we were offered only a glimpse of the selection of games on offer. As with the SNES Classic, the Japanese and American / European editions of the console offer different games. The top ten games announced for the West are Ecco the Dolphin, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Space Harrier 2, Shining Force, Dr. Robotnik's Machine, ToeJam & Earl, Comix Zone, Sonic the Hedgehog, The Altered Beast and Gunstar Heroes. The Japanese edition will include Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Puyo Tsu Puyo, Shining Force, The Vampire Slayer, Wrestleball, Gunstar Heroes, Comix Zone, Rent-A-Hero, Space Harrier II and Mado Monogatari I. The emulation is managed by M2.

The console itself is, obviously, a smaller version of the 16-bit gaming center, launched in Japan in 1988, before heading west a year later. The Sega Mega Drive Mini comes with two six-button controllers and supports USB and standard power sources. It has an audio / visual input HDMi. What games do you want to see?

The Sega Mega Drive Mini will be launched on September 19th all over the world, priced at $ 80 / £ 70.
