Launch of the Google Stadia Cloud game service in November for $ 10 a month

Google has announced the prizes and game titles of its Stadia streaming service. Stadia will be launched this year in November with the support of major game developers. The Stadia game library will cost $ 9.99 a month, while a free version will allow people to buy games directly and play them through the system.

Google has released more details about its future streaming service in a live stream today. There will be a free and paid subscription and for most games can be purchased separately. Stadia is offered as a paid version of Stadia Pro, which requires a monthly subscription of 9.99 euros. At this price, broadcasting in 4K resolution with 60 FPS and HDR is promised, if your own Internet line is fast enough. Google recommends between 30 and 35 Mbps for this level of quality.

Google has announced that the following games would be available on Stadia, which is not a long list to be brutally honest:

  • DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2
  • DOOM Eternal
  • Wolfenstein: young blood
  • Destiny 2
  • Power Rangers: battle for the grid
  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Metro Exodus
  • Thumper
  • GRID
  • SAMURAI SHODOWN
  • Football Manager 2020
  • To be packed
  • The Elder Scrolls Online
  • The crew 2
  • Division 2
  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey

  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Rage 2
  • FINAL FANTASY XV
  • Gylt
  • Tomb Raider Trilogy
  • Darksiders Genesis
  • Just Dance 2020

Consumers who already own some of the titles on Stadia will have to buy them again via Google in order to use them on the service. It's also available only through Chrome or Google devices, which means iPhone owners will not be able to enjoy Stadia on their phones. Google's Stadia runs on its worldwide network of Internet cables and high-speed data centers. They allow the company to run games in the cloud and distribute them on users' computers, televisions and phones. Cdrinfo:

Stadia Pro will include free content, as well as discounts on titles that users buy. The first free title is "Destiny 2" and comes with the basic game, all previous additions, the upcoming Shadowkeep expansion and the annual pass. Phil Harrison, an industry veteran who now runs Google's gaming division, said the company has developed a technology that allows it to run continuously even with poor connections. The multiplayer mode, which requires even more bandwidth, will be as fast as a single player mode, Google said.

"We will surprise people with the low bandwidth required," Harrison said. Hardcore players usually have strong relationships, and these are the people Google is targeting first, Harrison said. "We want to reach as many people as possible, but it's not possible to touch everyone at the same time, so we start with the most passionate players."

Google recommends an Internet speed of at least 10 Mbps for a 720p experience on Stadia. Faster connections can benefit from a streaming broadcast of up to 4k, depending on the connection speed.

If you lose the connection during play, Stadia will keep the game where it was interrupted for several minutes so that you can quickly reconnect without losing progress. In addition, if the bandwidth fluctuates, Stadia will adjust to offer the best possible visual quality at any time.

Stadia will be launched in November in 14 countries: United States, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. Google is working to expand to other countries in 2020.

Microsoft and Sony have also partnered to create their own game streaming system, but have not told us how much it would cost. Apple, which also announced its Arcade streaming service in March, also did not provide price details. Apple Arcade will offer more than 100 games to download, organized by Apple and exclusive to the service. And Microsoft has not indicated the launch of its xCloud.service project, but public testing will begin this year. Sony's PlayStation Now streaming service costs $ 20 for a one-month subscription or $ 45 for three months. It offers unlimited access to 750 games for streaming or downloading, allowing offline playback. The Microsoft Xbox Game Pass at $ 10 a month offers about 100 games to download for free.
