Lawrence Jones on Biden-Harris CNN sit-down: ‘That’s why he doesn’t do interviews’

President-elect Joe Biden “takes the backseat” of Vice President Kamala Harris during his tenure as host of Fox Nation Lawrence Jones said Friday.

“That’s why he doesn’t do interviews because he’s so inconsistent; that’s why they kept him in the basement for most of the campaign, ”Jones told“ Fox & Friends, ”in reaction to a statement from Biden in which he appeared to be joking about his resignation.

Jones pointed out that Biden campaigned as a “moderate” and Harris as a “progressive,” so political disagreements are likely to arise.

“She doesn’t agree with him on virtually every issue,” Jones said.

CNN’s JAKE TAPPER, DON LEMON GUSH DURING FREE INTERVIEW: HE SAID ‘A LOT OF GOOD ANSWERS’

Meanwhile, CNN presenters Jake Tapper and Don Lemon have appeared stunned after Tapper finished his exclusive interview with Biden and Harris, their first joint meeting since the 2020 presidential election.

Towards the end of the prime-time special, Lemon commented on Tapper’s session, filling Biden with praise for what he described as a “normal” and “sane” interview.

“We haven’t heard any fake news. We haven’t heard any conspiracy theory. We haven’t heard any personal grievances,” Lemon said. “We have heard from an elected president and a vice president who want to work with the other side.”

Jones said Biden is a “retail politician” who will not “run” the White House like most people assume.

“I’m going to be interested to see how this plays out, but, again, there are some philosophical issues that immediately arise in the White House on day one.”

Jones went on to say, “By the way, this is such a dishonest thing to do to the American people. Instead of going out and saying, look, I don’t agree with the president, and I’m resigning because of it. Do you want to fake some kind of illness? “
