Lea Michele and her Glee co-stars remember Cory Monteith six years after his death

It's been six years since Cory Monteithis death.

The Saturday, Lea Michele taken to Twitter to pay tribute to its end Joy costar.

"The light is still there," she wrote next to the picture of a sun looking from behind the clouds and shining above a water plane.

The post reminded many fans of the tribute that she had shared last year, which also featured a picture of the sun shining on a water plane.

"There are some who bring such great light to the world that even after they leave, the light remains," she wrote at the time.

The 32-year-old actress was not the only one in the series to remember Monteith. Kevin McHale, who played Artie, also shared a picture of Monteith on Instagram and titled "The Sweetest Boy Forever." Jenna Ushkowitz, who played Tina, did the same thing and subtitled the snapshot, "Miss miss, buddy." Amber Riley, who played Mercedes, also posted a picture of her return in which she showed her muscles with Monteith and wrote: "six years without these hugs."

Monteith died of an accidental overdose in July 2013. He was 31 years old. Monteith had struggled with addiction while alive and even sought treatment several months before his death.

Before his death, Monteith played Finn Hudson Joy. While the characters of Monteith and Michele formed a romantic relationship in the series, the two co-stars also came out of the screen. Over the years, Rachel Berry's star has continued to preserve the legacy of Monteith and honor it in many ways. His tattoos with the name and shirt number of his character are just two examples.

"There was no bigger man than Cory," she said in an interview with Television week in Australia shortly after his death. "So for the time we spent together, I consider myself very lucky."

Michele is now married to Zandy Reich. The two men tied up in California in March.
