Leak says the Moto Z4 will ship a Snapdragon 675 and 6.4 inch screen

A new leak claims that the Moto Z4 will pack a mid-range chip Snapdragon 675, the same thing to come in the Moto Z4 Play, according to GSM Arena.

That would refute a rumor floating last November claiming that the Moto Z4 – or the "Motorola Odin", code name that might or might not designate the next flagship Moto device – would carry a Snapdragon 8150 (now known as Snapdragon 855), the chip foreground that debuted in the Samsung Galaxy S10.

Now it is possible that the leak refers to the Moto Z4 Play, especially since a previous GSM Arena report noted that this would come with the less-efficient Snapdragon 675, which is the typically less demanding and less expensive role of the Play version. The only flaw of this theory? The new leak concerns a phone with a 6.4-inch screen, and the Moto Z4 Play was previously reported to have a 6.22-inch screen.

Difficult implications for 5G

It would be a bit odd for the value of the Moto Z main line. The previous Moto Z3 was perhaps not a really impressive device, but its dated, but still powerful, flagship chip Snapdragon 835 made this phone a bargain. at an average price. If the Moto Z4 is equipped with a midrange processor, it does not quite its value.

More importantly, we do not know if the Snapdragon 675 is powerful enough to handle 5G. The Moto Z3 has focused on relevance by sporting the Moto Mod 5G which allows it to connect to the Verizon 5G network (still very limited, we found it) and it is likely that the mod has power additional processing so that the handset is within the reach of all the advanced network.

The question is: can a Snapdragon 675 follow, as well as the Snapdragon 835 of the Moto Z3 during a network test? Even Qualcomm's numbers indicate LTE download speeds (600 Mbps) lower than last (1 Gbit / s).

The leak also revealed that the Moto Z4 and the Moto Z4 Play will both be equipped with 48 MPa rear cameras, the former being equipped with a 25 MP selfie camera (no word on the front camera of the Moto Z4 Play) . That would be a big jump from the 12 MP dual rear shooters on the Moto Z3.
