LONDON (Reuters) – Arsenal will face Vorskla Poltava in the European Football League on Thursday, after the Ukrainian club announced that it was still waiting for the confirmation of the Kiev Olympic Stadium to host the match.
The European Football Federation (UEFA) decided on Tuesday to transfer the Group 5 match from the Olixi Potovsky stadium to the Poltava stadium at the Kyiv National Sports Complex, for security reasons after the imposition of martial law in Ukraine.
Politicians in Ukraine this week approved a proposal to impose martial law in the areas attacked after Russia seized three Ukrainian vessels.
We are candidates at the Olympic Stadium of the National Sports Academy on the possibility of organizing the match, "said Vorskla Vice President Oleg Lizak at a press conference.

"We have not yet responded to the Olympic stadium (…) we are in a state of preparation … we are preparing a basic plan and a backup plan to prepare the stadium."
"We want to play the game at home and in front of our fans … but for the moment, we are living in a situation where we have to make arrangements to organize two matches in two different places.
"We are now waiting for a response from the Olympic Stadium if he is ready to welcome us."
Arsenal has already qualified for the knockout stages before two rounds of the group stage, after three wins and one draw in four matches.
