(Reuters) – Suspicions on Arsenal's match against Vorskla Poltava in the European Football League on Thursday were questioned, as the Ukrainian club said it was still waiting for confirmation of the Kiev Olympic stadium to find out he wished to host the match.
The European Football Federation (UEFA) decided on Tuesday to transfer the Group 5 match from the Olixi Potovsky stadium to the Poltava stadium at the Kyiv National Sports Complex, for security reasons after the imposition of martial law in Ukraine.
Politicians in Ukraine this week approved a proposal to impose martial law in the areas attacked after Russia seized three Ukrainian vessels.
"In the meantime, contacts are taking place," said Vice President Oleg Lizak at a press conference. We went to the Olympic Stadium of the National Sports Academy about the possibility of organizing the match.
"We have not yet responded to the Olympic Stadium … we are in a state of readiness … we are preparing a basic plan and a contingency plan to prepare the stadium."
"We want to play the game at home and in front of our fans … but for the moment, we are in a situation where we have to make arrangements to organize two matches in two different places." The organization will be performed at the required level with the appropriate security measures.
"We are now waiting for a response from the Olympic Stadium if he is ready to welcome us."
Arsenal has already qualified for the knockout stages before two rounds of the group stage, after three wins and one draw in four matches.
