The Argentine Football Confederation (ACF) announced that it would introduce temporary coach Lionel Scalloni to the national team and its leadership in Cuba next summer in Brazil.
"It is important to know what we want for all our national teams, we have seen the work of Lionel Scalloni and, therefore, we will ask him to continue in Cuba," he said.
Scaloni, 40, was named interim coach after Jorge Sampaoli was ruled out of the World Cup semi-finals in France last summer.
The former Scallone, who has played for clubs like Lazio, West Ham United and Deportivo La Coruna, has a modest experience as a coach, even though he was coach of his country under 20 years of age for a brief period.
