November 30 (Reuters) – Striker Junior Hewlett made a good move by giving Cardiff City a 2-1 win over the Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday and led them to leave the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Cardiff has 15 points on 11 points in 14 games, five behind Wolverhampton, who left the league for the sixth time in a row.
Right-back Matt Doherty celebrated his 200th match with Wolverhampton by giving the visiting team the advantage on the 18th minute before the equalizer of Isreal Aaron Gunarson. Hoyleet then delighted the hosts with a superb shot 13 minutes later.
Wolverhampton looked like the best team in the opening minutes and put Doherty on top of the net three meters after Cardiff's Neil Etheridge pulled a header from Raul Jimenez to defender Wolverhampton.
The thrilling Harry Arter, who shot Al Qaim at the last minute of the first half, contributed to the goal of equalizing by sending a long ball into the box. Shaun Harrison then headed to Gunarson to double goalkeeper Roy Patricio.
As each team was preparing to attack, Cardiff had the last word after the Canadian Hoylelet shot an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area and settled the back corner.
