According to World AIDS Day figures, the number of people living with AIDS reached 12,100 in June this year, compared with 5,301 in 2012, with 58% coverage of people living with AIDS. living with HIV. Compared with 29% in the Middle East and North Africa.

According to the same data, the HIV test has increased, with some 750,000 tests done last year.

In a statement to the press on the sidelines of the launch of the national HIV campaign, Health Minister Anas Dalkali confirmed that the Ministry's detection centers, centers and mobile detection units run by non-governmental organizations governments were subject to anyone wishing to undergo the AIDS test. For her part, Hakima Hamish, president of the AIDS Association, called for AIDS testing to be an important step in increasing the number of people being treated. Treatment.

She also stressed the need to raise awareness of the importance of preventing and stimulating testing and to fight against all forms of stigmatization of people infected with AIDS, noting that the UNAIDS Regional Office estimated that 9.4 million people were living with HIV. 100,000 of them in the Middle East and North Africa.

The campaign, which is part of World AIDS Day, targets pregnant women to prevent mother-to-child transmission, young people who are vulnerable or vulnerable to the disease.

The launch of the campaign was marked by the presence of national and international partners in the seat of the disease, representatives of the League of Arab States, the World Health Organization and the secretariat of the International Fund of Geneva , as well as Egyptian representative Yousra Goodwill, ambbadador for the Joint United Nations Program on HIV / AIDS. .
