This is the second time that Raja is crowned title after the 2003 edition at the expense of Cameroon's Cotton Sport.

This is the fourth title awarded by a Moroccan team to this tournament after the Royal Army in 2005, the FRA in 2010 and Morocco Fbadi in 2011.

Raja will meet Espérance, champion of the African Champions League, to win the African Super Cup.
