Newcastle United manager Mike Ashley said he wanted to sell the English Premier League club before the transfer window next month, indicating the progress of negotiations for the sale.
Ashley said in October that he had not received any offers accepted a year after the club's official sale.

Find a landlord "please everyone".
"I hope the sale will take place before the January transfer." "Is this realistic? It's possible. I hope we can find a good formula for agreement."
Newcastle stumbled at the start of the season under Spanish coach Rafael Benitez, but scored three straight wins to qualify before losing to West Ham United 3-0 in the final round.
Newcastle is 15th with 12 points in 14 games. Ashley, who acquired the majority of the club's capital in 2007, said he was not conducting private negotiations with any party, but pointed out that he was at an advanced stage.
"I am eager to sell the club to the right person so that everyone can feel happy."
Benitez complained of lack of contracts during the summer transfer period, saying it had affected the team's ambition to stay in the Premier League this season.
Ashley had promised to make big investments when the team would be in the limelight in 2017, but the promises were not true and Benitez has encountered great difficulties with the current group.
