NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – A new patent, patented by Apple Inc., has developed a smart coverage that tracks the heart rate, breathing rate and body temperature of users during sleep.
According to the New York Post, the so-called iSheet, a 54 micromedical tissue sensor, can be installed in a normal blanket or sleeping bag to monitor sleep.
According to Apple's patent, the multi-touch system communicates with the wireless control panel and tells users the pulse, breathing and heat of the screen.
Thanks to the sensors, users will be able to follow their movements during sleep and change their sleep mode.
Smart coverage also helps people with health problems: the device automatically calls an ambulance if it fails to register vital signs.
The developers said that they would not collect personal information that users would receive from the device without their permission.
The date of the new tool has not yet been revealed.
